My NEW Craft Room

So excited about my new crafting space!!

I finally got my craft room redone and put back together again. Now I just need to find time to really sit down and crank out some projects made with the "new" SU! products featured in the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog that just premiered on July 1st.

My new work space - I just LOVE it! A corner desk and I have room in the middle of the room to set up a 4 foot table to turn around and work off as well. I also just love the peg board that my Dad built for me to put some ribbon racks on for storage of some (I have a lot) of my ribbon! My sister, Donna, helped me make the beautiful curtains that bring in just that POP of color that I wanted with the blue, turquoise and brown spots. Can't thank her enough for all of her help!! :o) And thanks also to my sister, Gloria, for letting us borrow her sewing machine to make it happen.

My paper storage for 8-1/2 x 11 SU! papers is in the crate on the cart at edge of picture. I am now using the 12x 12 paper holders and dividers (partial SU! and partial Cropper Hopper supplies to store my 12 x 12 SU! Designer Papers, as well as my SU! solid card stock.

The Rubbermaid storage towers are great for keeping all my adhesive supplies, pens, pads, etc. that I plan to embellish, as well as the FAVORITE - candy!!! for all my treats that I create and to munch on while "slaving" :o) over my projects! Of course, my bestest buddie - Abby Gale is waiting to see if there are not some kind of "doggie treats" that can be found in those drawers as well.

My raised work space is a rolling cart that my Dad transformed from a baby changing station we found that someone was disposing of. It is the perfect height for working on projects while standing and it stores my Big Shot and supplies. It is nice that it can also be moved to the center of the room if need be to work on a task.

Hope you liked the pics of my craft room transformation. I was pretty sore from all the painting and moving around of furniture and plethora of craft supplies. But - I am starting to feel better and am ready to GET TO WORK!!!

In Color / True Friend

Made a few simple, but crisp "In Color" cards using the flower from the True Friend stamp set embossed in white on the Bermuda Bay paper and the sentiments from Happy Everything and Celebrate is from the retired Wonderful Words set. Accented with a simple tied knot of the Bermuda Bay grosgrain ribbon. Need to make some more of these with the Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry. These new "In Colors" look really sharp and crisp with the contrast of white.

More Matchboxes

Made a few more matchboxes to get the hang of the matchbox die used with Big Shot. Just playing with some of the new "In Colors" and some old product (not all SU!) to practice with making cute treats for friends and family. Looking forward to making many more matchboxes in the future.

Love Card for My Sweetie

Love Card and Matchbox for My Sweetie Using the retired Love Matters stamp set, I made a Love card for my "sweetie" and matched it up with a matchbox filled with Hershey's nuggets. Made the card using Candy Lane DP, which I bordered with a zig-zag stitch on the sewing machine. The matchbox had the sentiment from Yummy set and both were finished off with buttons for that finishing touch. These were my first attempts at using the matchbox die for the Big Shot. Figured it out and then had to make several more to get my mojo going. Had a fun afternoon - hope you enjoy them.

Father's Day 2

Tried another Father's Day Card with use of the Sizzix Little Leaves in Kiwi Kiss and an older retired stamp set of Best Blossoms in Kiwi Kiss to add shadowing of similar leaves print. Used the chocolate ribbon from retired Alpine Ribbon Originals. Sentiment was from current All Holidays set and finished off with chocolate square brads (none SU! product), paper piercer and chocolate chip photo corners. Thought it turned out fairly good.

Father's Day Cards

Just learning how to post pics to my new blog...so be patient as I catch up with technology. Hopefully, I will get this right.!!

A few pics of some Father's Day cards I put together quickly to share. Saw a similar card on-line (sorry- don't remember from who) and changed it up a little with supplies I had available. I used the Parisian Breeze DP with the sentiment from All Holidays and the Chocolate ribbon from the Alpine Ribbon Originals (retired). Accented with a Baja Breeze Little Leaves made from the Sizzlit dies and a Baja Breeze corduroy button. Hope you like it! My Dad really did.

Also used the Parisian Breeze DP with the sentiment from All Holidays and chocolate ribbon from the Alpine Ribbon Originals (retired) to make a second card. Used the Photo Corners punch in chocolate chip and a spiral brad and ribbon (none SU! product) to finish it off.
